I am buying a new PlayStation. I see that I can use a "game enhancer" or a "plugmod" in the older models.

However, if I am buying a new set, I would be stuck with getting a PSOne which won't accept the plugmod.

My main concern is using PAL backups/imports. I am in the US and my TV set supports only NTSC. I understand that I can patch the imported backup from Pal to NTSC.

MY question.. Does using a game enhancer or a plugmod allows the console to output NTSC signal if a PAL game is used?

I see in the specs for the plugmod that it supports PAL/NTSC. Does that mean that it works with either console or does it mean that it will give me an option to set the output format?
