The easiest thing for you to do is to only backup CD games. If you want backups of DVD games - purchase rips from someone else, it is a whole bunch less time consuming - heaps easier and cost effective. It is what I do. I can rip most games, but have lost interest in doing it as I dont have the time for it, and end up with a few coasters in the process. There are so many rips available, the other option is way more appealing.
