Hey guys, one idea for those who are unable to save games in GTA 3. Make sure that your "Personal" directory exists! (Its default location is the directory called "Personal" in your Windows directory, e.g. C:\WINDOWS\Personal. If you're not sure where it exactly is, see registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders and/or HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Cur rentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders .)
If this directory doesn't exist, nothing on this world will help GTA 3 with saving its games! I was struggling with it for days until I found this out, after having installed a file operation monitor (FileMon from Sysinternals) and watching whaddahell the game is trying to do!
