I'd double check first that it is 100% the neo 2.2 that you have. Get in contact with the company you bought the chip from. If it is then it is relatively easy (As long as you have soldering experience)
I still stand by my view that the neo 2.2/2.2pro is the best mod chip for the ps2 ver 4 and below. The neo 4 and messia are good chips but can be real ball achers to install (Especially after a night out!)
If you want 100% Success rate and don't mind the swap then get a neo 2.2
