One more thing that can happen if you burn at faster speed is that the burner starts at one speed and after some burning it speeds up to higher speed and continue burning. My Lite-on 24102B does that if I use 16x or higher i think and it shows if you check the disc after burning you can see where it speeds up. If you do there is no way it will work in a PS One, in a older model I don't know. Burn as slow as possible. Read as slow as possible.
My lite-on can read in 1x but can only burn i 8x as minimum.
