I dont think that using a dvd rip such as GTA3, could harm your laser..
probably because the files are not in order (as the original) the ps2 is working more and pushing it self, jumping from file to file inorder to read the cd!
The fact is that GTA3 rip makes a lot of noise and keeps loading way to much.
