Again, most of us generalize here, any part of the SLED
including the track wears out we say the laser is
gone bad or worn out. If any part goes, you replace the
whole unit. Laser units are very precise microscopic
devices, it does not take much at all to throw one off.
Lightbulbs don't move and they wear out! Take one and
shake it and flick it on and off and see how long it
lasts! All electronics have a limited lifespan and the
lifespan depends on how much stress (heat,vibration,
voltage fluctuation,current interference,humidity...)
I know using DVD Rips must be bad on my laser, just
how bad is what I'd like to know. Exactly how much
laser life will I loose from playing rips. One hour
of playing my GTA3 Rip could be equal to 20 hours of
normal DVD play. Or Maybe it 200 hours or only 2. I
don't know!!
