How To Flash If You Already Flashed As A Sony CRX-100E

It is nearly impossible for any automated program to determine if a firmware
will call itself a Sony CRX-100E or an HP 8100. Therefore, the respective
flash programs will not know which one you're trying to flash - only what the
drives call themselves at the time of flashing. Sony's flasher works any
time the drive calls itself Sony CRX-100E; likewise, HP's flasher works any
time the drive calls itself HP CD-Writer Plus 8100.

Download the true Sony CRX-100E firmware from www.cdrinfo.com. Use that
package's update program to flash the drive with 8100_10N.BIN.
