NEO 2.2 is slightly different and goes as follows
PS2 DVD (Silver or DVD-R)
(1) Boot AR2/GS2 disc 1. Holding down the power button all the was till the main screen
(2) At the main screen, while still holding the power button, press the EJECT button to eject the CD tray.
(3) Replace the AR2/GS2 disc with an original PS2 DVD game and that game
Must have a bigger toc (table of contents) than the dvd-r game u want to boot. (suggest "Devil May Cry" demo) & hit EJECT again to close the tray
(4) Select AR2/GS2 codes, choose "Dave Mirra BMX"
(5) Select START GAME and then select "WITH CODES" wait atleast 10 seconds and press X, you will get an error message saying " TOO MANY CODES" press X agin to lose the message.
(6) Hit START and this time select "WITHOUT CODES"
(7) Once the AR2/GS2 is asking to change the game disc , release the POWER button.
(7) The CD tray will now open and you can replace the DVD game with your backup copy.
(8) The CD tray will automatically close after about 5 seconds.
(9) press X now to start the game
