Yeah, the 1000 PSX models really can be a nightmare, as I have found out!

I can use discs other than black, but Iv'e had to re-calibrate the laser using the pots on the mainboard. It's amazing just how different this model is to say, a 7502: no probs at all with any brand Iv'e burnt.
The most incompatible disc I have used with the 1002 model is..verbatim! Ironic that the best-quality disc won't work at all but there ya go..

Memorex 80min work best for me, as well as Traxdata. Also the unbranded one's work fine, but I don't think they'll last that long so Iv'e ruled them out.

BOT-CK: Sorry to hear about your probs with Kodak mate. Fail within weeks? Perhaps you had a bad batch or someone is selling dud discs -never been able to get them cheap and never had a bad 'un.
