As I said from the start BIG MOUTH I am no expert with PS2s, and I am OBVIOUSLY going to want to know all the details before I go and spend £100 in my town getting my PS2 chipped if there was an easier and less risky way.
And NOTHING is technically impossible, remember the Dreamcast when that first came out? It was 'TECHNICALLY IMPOSSIBLE' to EVER copy DC games but here they are, with no chipping needed, only a bootdisk.
And you say "if a bootcd was possible, why would they even make one and not make the backups bootable right away?", the answer is simple, the people who copy and sell PS2 backups know NOTHING about them, they simply make copies from copies and sell them at the local car boot sale, they couldn't care less about making a self bootable disk, why should they?
As I said from the start, I know nothing on the subject and needed info, not an attempt at being patronized by someone who seems to think he's an expert.
It was only a while ago that you could ONLY make backup Dreamcast games from the ISOs on the net but now you can copy them freely, so as I said before, NOTHING is impossible, it will only be a matter of time before a program is created that can make backups that can be run from a bootdisk or are self bootable themselves....YOU think about it!
