It's not shoplifting your own goods when your returning a different system instead of the one you purchased, with a warranty label attached to the product and you bringing it back torn off they have every right to consider your trying to rip them off by returning different item then the one originally purchased and prosecute you for attempted theft.
I'll admit Wal-Mart probably won't think to check but you'll be paying 3 times the amount for the playstation if they do and you get caught.
