FYI, I received a reply from an online company making mini-CDs, custom-shaped CDs and packages/cases, in which it stated unfortunately that the adapters (he/she had in mind) were for tray-loading drives that do not have the inner 8cm-diameter ring. They are not supposed to work in a slot-in drive, as they would "jam it up". Please let me (us) know if you come up with anything more (I will). Thanks again...
