Because most new SD2 games also have an ATIP check as a secondary protection.
The ATIP is a small section on every CD-R which contains the length of the CDR, manufacturer etc. Pressed cd's don't have an ATIP. So if an ATIP is present during this check, it won't run.
However, it is usually only cd-writers that can check for an ATIP so you can play the game from a CD-ROM or DVD no problems. But when playing from a burner you must enable Hide CD-R Media which hides the fact there is an ATIP..............bingo!!!!
