If you bought your PS2 recently, it's a v5. This will work with the Origachip (
www.origachip.com). It is a 15 wire mod (and a very fine mod at that) and will boot your NTSC FF X without swap. That's what we do with our Origa chipped system. Origa costs around £35 with shipping from Italy, plus abot £60 to install (we can do this for you if you want)
Better still for v5 PAL is the Messiah which is a complete no swap solution. We can both supply the Messiah and install it and the work is guaranteed for 90 days. If that is an option for you we'd need to conduct the enquiry/business side off this site and through e-mail via my profile.
