When u made the cdi image (with DJ) did the resulting image have 2 separate sessions with only a single Mode 2 CD/XA track in the 2nd session? Thats what you need to have in a cdi image in order for it to be self bootable.
You need 2 separate sessions. You can extract all tracks (track by track) with CDRWin (thats what i use, but i think u can do that with anything) and when u burn them put all audio tracks in the first session and ONLY the data track (Mode 2 CD/XA) in the 2nd session.
