If you can't get PSX backups to load then something is wrong with the chip or the install. Go to
www.lik-sang.com and look up the install diagram for your version PS2. I have used the lik-sang diagrams several times so i know they are correct. Follow the instructions exact, If it says to connect the wire to the left side of a componet then connect it to the left side (it does make a difference) be sure no excess solder is bridging or connecting to anything else, use a magnifying glass, also tape the wire to the board making sure that it is out of the way of the contacts so it doesn't get pinched when reassembling the PS2. Plug the usb mod into the top port, turn it on and insert a PSX backup and press reset, If it still does not load and you are positive the wire is connected correctly then you may have a bad chip and want to exchange it...Good luck, i hope this helps.
