Unhappy Sharing CD burner over network (Packet writing software)

I have a problem I would like to share with you.

I have been trying to share my CD burner with antoher PC using Direct CD and InCD. The PC having the burner runs Win 2K Pro (lets call it a server). The client PC runs Windows Me. They are both linked through a Ethernet network with a D-Link DI-704 Internet Gateway.

Now the problem, is that when the client tries to write to the burner, it writes a few directories, then an access right problem appears through a popup on the client's screen.

Facts:
- The CD Burner is shared on the server and is seen by the client.
- The client logon is an administrator on the server.
- The client can write anywhere on the server's hard disks.
- This configuration worked fine when both the server and the client ran Windows 98.
- Apparently, this is an issue with Direct CD.

Has anyone been able to do this successfully in a similar setup with any Packet write software?

Thank you
