I have a sony 140e ( is getting on a bit) I used a program called Clny and then used Clonecd to backup my discs. Clony will give you the setting for safe disc. The setting are max read speed: 4x read retrys 3 and error corrections None. It will give you a perfect copy. You will need the nocd patch from this site to play the game using your back up though.
