The only problem that you had was that you must have replaced setup.exe and emperor.exe... and that is wrong...
You should only replace setup.exe not in the root in the cd if i'm sure... in the folder "data" or "setup"... so, copy all cd#1 to hard disk and after replace setup.exe you need to make a folder called "emperor crack" or anything else and put the unprotected emperor.exe... then, you burn to a cd-r with the same label and install.... after that, you replace the crack from the cd to where the game was installed in hard disk...
Easy, I think.... I have the english version and gave the same problem you had....
