when I try to use my backup of half-life and then wanting to play with my newly bought sidewinder gamepad from Microsoft, a strange thing happens!!

I have NEVER before seen the half-life game asking for a cd and then trying to validate this cd to determine if it is original or not. Normally u just have to enter a your ###, the first time u ####t the game.

But since I installed the software for the Sidewinder, several of my backed up games are not working,that includes Delta Force land warrior with a no_cd patch.

can anybody verify if the sidewinder cannot run with no_cd patches and backed up games?????
does the sidewinder software contain some added detection for this??
