(I d/l'ed the 1.08 patch, I hate doing the automatic patch)
First UNINSTALL Diablo 2. After you uninstall Diablo 2, delete the directory where it was installed.
1.) Reinstall, Multiplayer installation.
2.) Download 1.02 patch and install patch.
3.) Copy "DLoad.exe" and "Game_crk.exe" to the directory where you installed Diablo 2.
4.) Download the 1.08 patch and install.
5.) Delete "Game_crk.exe" and then copy "Game_crk2.exe" into your directory where Diablo 2 is installed.
6.) Rename "Game_crk2.exe" to "Game_crk.exe"
7.) Sta.rt Diablo 2 using "DLoad.exe"
Thats EXACTLY how I did it, and it works PERFECTLY.

(For some reason, it blocks the word "St.ar" so I put a " . " in there...dont worry about it..heh)
