Tropico (English version) 1:1 Copy

This is what I have observed in making my backup copy of Tropico (English version):

1. The game's copy protection consists of CD #####s and disk errors. The disk errors are from the beginning of the disk, all the way to the end.

2. Even using CloneCD, the backup process took me about 3 hours. I made sure I used "Fast Error Skip". I read the disk at "8x" speed.

3. I used Plextor's Plexwriter 12/10/32A with firmware 1.08. I know some people have experienced problems with this new firmware. I have successfully made backup copies of Diablo 2, C&C Red Alert 2, The Sims House Party, and AOE 2. No problems whatsoever.

4. Tropico (English version) is not protected, as far as I can tell, with SafeDisc, SafeDisc 2, or SecuRom, or SecuRom 2. It does, however, exhibit some characteristics of SafeDisc and SecuRom (i.e. errors, subchannel data).

Please let me know what you have observed when making your backup copy.
