you can make a somewhat playable backup using CloneCD and Playbackup. You have to make a image with Clone CD with sub channels and all that stuff, then run Playback patch program on image file. then burn image to CD-R and install Playback program. Reboot and it should run, it worked for me, although i would like a crack or perfect copy!
