I am sure that the game has the cd ##### removed after version 2.15
so patch it with one their after ....the last time that I played quake 2
the version was 3.2 so you need to get up to that version at least...
I was told that was the last ever update patch, but I could be wrong as I am sure that I have seen a 3.5 version floating around the net....
But I Know for definate the 3.2 patch is the one you should aim for...
