I have an HP writer 4x4x32 and a HP writer 8x4x32
and they work too.

use clonecd tag fast error skip and intelligent bad sector...
and while writing close session

There are two tricky parts while copying a safedisk2 protection.
the reading:
open the log file, while reading you should get bad sectors between
800 and 10000, if you get more the reading is no good.
Writing: you can tag the don't reapair subchannel option or you cannot because it's greyed out. Writers wich can do the first and you can do a good read (as above) you can make a good copy.
If the box is greyed-out you should try, maybe you are lucky.
For example my hp's will do the trick, but my philips 3610 and yamaha 4260 don't.
my best guess is that by default my hp's don't repair subchanneldata and the others do.
