Fixed my rolling screen problem by converting the unpatched image from PAL to NTSC. Burned it and it loads up and goes to the 50 or 60HZ selection screen. If I select 50, I can continue on all the way to a race then the screen rolls again when play starts. If I go with 60, which should be right, it goes black and the music plays as if it is loading, but that is all it does....Should I apply the PAL2NTSC ppf before I convert or maybe after...? Think it might help or any ideas?!?!
In my earlier reply to you I thought you might be stuck but it appears that the patches are working - sort of. But it doesn't. The order in which you patch and the number of patches shouldn't matter so long as they are not mutually exclusive patches. But it is far more likely that the patches themselves don't work properly.

I forgot to mention in the other post that you can buy a PAL-NTSC convertor but unlike the counterpart in the UK which costs c. $75, the US price is c.$250. For that you might as well get a widescreen TV and use the AV lead (having checked that the TV is multi-System - accepts PAL).
