Project IGI: weird circular lines on original CD?

I bought Project IGI, it works, and I managed to make a copy, the only thing I found weird was when you look at the CD there are 2 circular lines, one is on the inside and the other is near the outer edge. They look like someone got a needle and scratch circles on to the CD like you do with a record. The protection the CD’s is dummy files is this part of the protection? The other thing its got a data track then 2 audio tracks the another data track, is this some kind of new protection. Like I said before I think I made a perfect copy but can some explain to me why those other things are there.
