i have only backed up anime which would fit on the 4.7 gb discs however it may be possible to rip out all the extras on disks and get it on a 4.7gb disk but as a good quality disk is about a £5 i would say for the hassel and the chances being low to acheive the ripping before burning your just as well buying the dvd in the first place ..another option is to rip it to divx and then to svcd this will allow u to get the movie onto one disk (handy but expensive when 2 cd's cost 0.35p to eh £5 or £3 for (datastore ..yuk))
I guess what im saying is all the dvdr burners have only really 2 uses
1. to backup ps2 games
2. to backup pc images (hardisk backups because the media is still two expensive compared to cd's)
As for disks i use for ps2 backup well maxwell £5 ...i have had no problems with these disks except for one game MGS2 however im trying to backup a games with tons of video and audio in nTSC format and play it on a PAL machine ...
i have had better results with TDK and Pioneer but still not perfect ..every pal game has been Perfect with Maxwell
As for datastore media ok for pc stuff but that's about it ... (NOT A FAN)
..hope this helps
