You really are a difficult customer to please. Why don't you believe me? How do you know it won't run imports whatsoever? Read this and learn.
Your PAL PS2 wil run anything once you get past the boot phase which does the region and type (DVD, PSX, PS2) check on the part of the pressed original that CloneCD can't reach. Your NEO2.2 interacts with AR2/DVDRX/Memory Manager 16 to allow you to put any CloneCD produced or suitably patched backup game into the tray and it will load.
In the NTSC game case, it will play as an NTSC game and put an NTSC signal out the back. This will hit your PAL TV and either roll around or play black & white. This problem can be avoided if a full AV signal is presented with proper synchronisation. The PAL PS2 provides the synchronisation signal if you put a fully loaded scart lead (a purchasable PS2 accessory) as your connexion between TV and PS2. Alternatively you can buy an NTSC-PAL Convertor (which is what I did because my PS2 is too far from the 28" TV for the scart lead to reach).
Now, CloneCD the first disk and try it. If it doesn't work, it won't be because your chipped PS2 can't play NTSC games.
