I take it all you do is scan the image created of the game and if you don't get any bad sectors you are OK, but if you get bad sectors do you try to repair them or do you create another image of the game at a slower speed.
ANSWER: You really have to know what you are doing to repair bad sectors. Try the slower speed each time. I have to say, that on the rare occasion I've found a bad sector, it has been beyond repair - wouldn't know what to substitute.

Also would You recommend scanning Before and after applying patches.
ANSWER: No need to scan after applying the patch in my experience.

The reason i ask i that i have been asked to add some more info to my CDRWin tutorial and i need it to be correct for all the new people out there.

Thanks for your time.
The destructions I've got for CDMAGE read as follows:

1/
You'll have a .BIN and a .CUE file as your starting point assuming no read errors

2/
Start CDMAGE and in the OPTIONS windw change the Default Extraction Folder to the required directory (containing BIN/CUE)

3/
Open the CUE file and look for the IMAGE/SESSION 1/TRACK 1 display. Doubleclick on TRACK 1 to see the files of the image in the right hand window

4/
Look for a file in there with a .IMG extension (it might/will be in a directory). When you've found the IOPRP165.IMG file click EXTRACT

5/
Locate the extracted .IMG file in your chosen directory (step 2) and check that it is not a read only file.

6/
Start EA Patcher and open the extracted IOPRP165.IMG file leaving TESTMODE ON and clicking on PATCH. You'll get the message TESTMODE NOT PATCHING. PATTERN FOUND!!!! Click OK. Unclick TESTMODE and click PATCH.

7/
You'll get the message PATTERN PATCHED. Click OK to complete the patching.

8/
In CDMAGE, rightclick on IOPRP165.IMG and select IMPORT FILE. (You need the latest Beta for this to work). Point to the patched .IMG file and import it back.

9/
Upon seeing FILE IMPRTED SUCCESSFULLY, press OK and in the menu bar click FILE>SAVE AS. Choose a filename and let CDMAGE complete rewriting the BIB/CUE pair with the message SAVE COMPLETED SUCCESSFULLY.

10/
With CDR-WIN select the filename as per step 9 and use the BURN option to create the CD.

Cheers
