I am by no means an expert (as you will probably spot) but I have made over 40 working backups and feel I know enough to help you...
CDRWin from Goldenhawk is cool 'cos as far as I know its the only S/W apart from Fireburner that allows you to add patches to the .bin file (correct me if I am wrong guys), these patches can be used to fix protection issues etc. Although you should only backup games you own , okay
... Clone CD is good 'cos it does exact copies of the PSX discs. The only thing about Clone CD is that only works correctly with certain hardware combinations but if your hardware meets the specifications in cannot be beaten. If anyone spots a mistake here please correct me as I am still learning myself by thought I would try and help as I know how frustrating it can be making all those coasters.
