Are you trying genuin Sony memory cards? some third paarty one's wont be recognised!

The more probable cause is that a small surface mount fuse has been blown during the chip instalation.

Look for small black cude shaped devices on the main board about 3mm x 4mm in size and ##### them with a multimeter, if any are blown (open circuit) then they can either be replaced or you can solder a small fuse wire link across the two terminals of the suspect device.
