Is the game u rent is protected? if not burn it with Clone CD and jump to #2 if yes obtain an ISO image by Nero or CDRWIN, apply the patch if avilable (see http://www.megagames.com/ps2/ps2.shtml), burn it back on blank CDR.
#2 to play the Backup CD on PS2, you need to do the swap trick (Revire the form posts).
