It is actually ... using the ps2 swap trick. This is quite hard to get working but as soon as u get the hang of it it works pretty well.

The playstation 2 section of www.megagames.com has info on what u need to do, but be warned this does involve taking your ps2 apart.

All games will need to be patched in order to use them with the swap trick and u can get the patches from megagames as well. Although i would recommend getting it chipped as it will save u a lot of hassle in the long run.
