I downloaded the patch from Megagames: "crashb.zip"--Crash Bash Protection Fix, US NTSC, 12KB, BH.
I tried burning the patched .BIN file but I get the same problem as SPIKE: "The startup has changed and I get the smiley face and then some text about "Is it 4:20 yet" and then the game freezes and says the console has been modified."
Can you tell me the exact steps I need to take to get this to work?
I have the original psx 7501 model and am using HP CD-Writer Plus with CDRWIN. I have no problems playing other patched games. (Where do I find whether my machine is 100x or 550x?)
I have a feeling everyone who got it to work seems to be using the PAL patch and not the US NTSC patch.
BTW, how the the gameshark thing work?
