Baconbeacon is on a distinguished road
I understand that swap magic is in no way a modchip. It's only a method of bypassing security. For using the PS1 swap trick, any ol' PS1 game will do as a boot disc, but ONLY if it was factory made. I use Medal of Honor (not that it has anything to do with anything).

however, I don't wish to use swap magic when trying a similar method with a PS2 game. I want to use a factory made PS2 game...say Devil May Cry, and use it as a boot disc.

For the sake of this post, pretend that swap magic and mod chips don't exist. Now we're left with emulating the PS1 swap trick method with PS2 games. but as it stands now, this simply won't work. Then, I ask why. It has to do with the order and number of security checks a PS2 does on a PS2 disc. but what is happening for a PS2 game that is different than with a PS1 game? Anyone who knows the answer, here's the place to put it.
