If you cannot read the cd using CDRWin because of data errors - forget it.
The cd is no good.
Clonecd may very well copy the errors but as you have seen the resulting game does not work properly.
You can use ppfomatic if you want but cannot see what for as you won't have any patches to apply so it will sit there looking at you just as I sat here and shook my head reading this post!
