I have cleaned my laser lens before but you must be very careful because you could scratch it and not see that you have.
Also, i meant were you trying to play PAL or NTSC games, because the Breaker Pro is able to be set for PAL or NTSC.
What does your Breaker Pro say on the disc label itself ?
Mine say's NTSC cersion 1.1
It's kind of strange they would make an NTSC & PAL version when it has a selection option when the disc is loaded between PAL & NTSC.....
I know when i try to play PAL games before applying a conversion patch they still play just off center and B&W just like a video would, so they should still play or load.
There are guides around on how to re adjust your laser, but you must be confident in doing things like this as you can ruin it for good.
And there are guides doing it with an ohm meter so you don't adjust it to far and burn it out totally.
Also, regardless of what burner you have, try the latest CloneCD and i bet it will let you burn at 2X & 4X.

The NTSC & PAL selector, is just for the video signal, meaning you can play any game with any setting...its just for adjusting the screen correctly.
if you play PAL game you chose NTSC and it should correct the adjustment.
You can set it to "off" too that's why its only for video mode not for playing.
Yea i read about cleaning or adjusting the lense, tho i will only try to clean, cause i don't think i am able to re-adjust it myself.
I tried CloneCD and of course i can chose lower speed, but the real writing speed is still 8x minimum, cause its hardware capped, no software can cut that.
But, if the cd and dvd lasers are two different, then i have no idea why its getting rusty cause i barely used the CD one.
Anyway, i think its best to wait for the new, hopefully scratch free Breaker CD, and if it still does not work, i'll try to clean the lense.
