Agreed.
When I had major graphics problems with Blood 2 long ago, I uninstalled DirectX manually
and reinstalled a previous version. Guess what, the problems didn't go away. I had to downgrade (!) the nVidia Detonator driver instead. And the game, of course, worked with the re-upgraded DirectX, too.
