if it is ea sports nhl 2001, then you can just make a 1:1 copy using cdrwin.. if it is 989 sports nhl faceoff 2001, download the gameshark cd @ megagames.com in the "psx utilties" section & enter these codes:

its the only way i know of getting past the mod protection, without having a stealth 4 mod chip..
