the way you described is right, you will need a ppt patcher from www.paradogs.com
you can get patches from all sorts of website, try this site it has lots of links to patch sites etc. http://www.geocities.com/bigmikepsx/dalinkz.html
if you record an image in raw foramt i believe it saves a bit of space so you can put a bit more on one disc
