I am using the No-DVD-Fix by Vitality. The trick is to DISABLE all Human Interface Devices (HID) in your Windows Device Manager. If I say ALL I mean ALL besides the mouse of course

Normally my device manager looks like this:
When you use the Vitality-No-DVD-Fix the game then crashes like this:
I then simply disabled all HIDs in my device manager besides my Logitech MX518 mouse, see screenshot here:
Now the Vitality-No-DVD-Fix works fine with the game. No need for other fixes.
