UK English DVD9 to 2 x DVD5 with automatic installer for 2nd DVD

1. Copy entire DVD9 to a temp directory.
Optional: Delete the 'Data\Register' and 'Data\Update' folders to stop your browser launching the Registration and Update pages before and after installation!
2. Move (DO NOT COPY) the 'Paks' folder from the 'Data' folder to another temp directory.
3. Burn the contents of the folder in step 1 (3.62GB) to a rewriteable DVD. No Volume Label is needed but I used DISK1.
4. Download this RAR (password GCW):

Code:
http://d.turboupload.com/d/1658097/SF.rar.html
and unrar it into the 2nd temp directory where you copied the PAKS folder too. This contains the Setup.exe (made with Inno Setup) to install the rest of the game, and a few Autorun files.
5. Burn the contents of the 2nd temp directory (3.67GB) to another rewriteable DVD. No Volume Label is needed but I used DISK2.
6. Install the game as normal from the first DVD.
7. Insert the 2nd DVD, it will Autorun if enabled, if not just run Setup.exe to install the rest of the game! This will install all the files\folders from the 'PAKS\DATA' folder to your 'Silverfall\Data' folder! The Setup.exe will silently finish when it's done!
8. Put any updates/cracks on whatever disc you like as there is plenty of space left, you can then install the update and crack after the 2nd DVD has finished installing.
9. Run the game and see if it plays as expected.
10. If all OK then burn to 2 x DVD+/-R!

Notes:
Do not move any files out of the PAKS folder, leave the structure intact or the custom installer will fail!

The Setup.exe checks for the existence of a Registry Key (HKLM\Software\Monte Cristo\Silverfall\HD_Path) to find where Silverfall is installed, if this key does not exist then you've not installed the game (and you will get a message to that effect), or it's not the UK version! This key may be the same for all versions though!

If you want the latest DirectX9 to be on the DVD, Feb 2007, then just download it from M$ site:

Code:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=4B1F5D0C-5E44-4864-93CD-464EF59DA050&displaylang=en
Locate the temp folder you copied the game files too and delete the files in the DirectX9 folder. Run the downloaded DX9 setup and extract the files to a temp folder then copy them to the same DirectX9 folder you just deleted the old DX9 files from. When the game installer ends it will automatically update the game to the latest DX9 if needed!

Transmission end.............
