Hmm. May be...
Over the years I've assembled some reg tweaks that might be worth trying.
Now the one that I think might make a difference is the Always Unload dll. Default is 0, but if changed to 1 you can save on some memory space. If you don't want the other tweaks, just open with text editor and delete them, but they are all good

(there's only I think 5 of them)

Might be worth a shot.
And is 30% really that much? How much ram do you have?
And I guess if all else fails, then just end it manually. Guess there's nothing else you can do and I don't think more ram will help either.
