I agree with Lufcfan. The clicking is a laser issue. It happens because it cant focus correctly. I have also returned many new consoles to the store because they had crap lasers from the start. Especially v7 thru v10 so it does happen
. Try a PS2 cd-r game. My guess is you will have the same result as with the PS1 cd-r.
