The forum FAQ is quite long and has a lot more ideas than just updating DirectX! Have you tried them all? If so, your final option is contacting the publisher for help.
[Edit] If you're saying that it's quite hard to download the latest DirectX from Micro$oft, you're right. I wonder how those goddamnfuckin' idiots are planning to beat Google in the game of web search engines when you just can't find anything easily on their stupid own site! Here's a direct download URL for you (took me like five minutes to find, GRRR!):
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...7-cc576822aed4. This is a full, so-called "monolithic", download that has all components inside the package and, therefore, needs no Internet access during the installation.
