I would stay away from backups unless you know what you are doing and a PC knowledgeable. You either have to flash your DVD drives firmware, or buy a replacement flash chip so you can switch between the 2.


Backing up games require you to have a compatible serial controller hooked up to your PC. Ones that are not compatible may destroy the drive. You can search the net on which chip sets work or not. Unless you have a special power adapter for the x360 drive, you will have to use the x360 for power. Basically, you hook the data cable to your PC and the power to the x360.


After you get your drive hooked up to your PC, you have to use utilities to flash its firmware. Once that is done, you can put the drive in a specific mode in order to to get some security id's.


You then use the drive to copy the disk, you must use software where you can specify sectors of the disk to copy. You must then patch the images with your id's, this will allow the game to boot to your DVD drive (nobody elses). You can then burn the image to a DVD9.
