The scart lead is a 21 pin job at the TV end. It's a sort of square port perhaps 1½" wide by 3/4" high. It may well be that US TVs don't have this port and you would then have to rely on the S-Video or A/V ports. If that's the case it's patching (which I've never got working) or a convertor (which I have only NTSC to PAL).

Having just looked up US TVs on the web, I fear thismight be the case. Sorry.
