If you are hosting a local webserver to mount from that is not the way to go..

If you have WindowsXP Pro.. You want to create a share on the server which will be hosting the Images.. or even map a network drive to this location and ensure that you have the proper cerdentials to access the files.

I have a server at home on which I have a share called "Images"

Then when I want to connect to the folder from another machine on the same subnet mask I just go to START -> RUN -> and type the netbios name of the machine (mine is "Zues")and then the share name like this...(UNC)

\\zues\images\ & hit enter to connect.. If you get a prompt for login just enter your credentials for the remote machine.

When selecting images in Daemon Tools you can use UNC path connections..

For example: I mount image from...\\zues\images\HALO.iso

Works just the same. though I hope the network is wired.. to keep the speed up

Did this help at all.. I think Starforce is likely blocking the API in windows.. so UNC may not work for this cause.
